Privacy Policy

The short version

luneto collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no telemetry and no server operated by us. Everything the app knows lives on your own device, and everything it talks to is a camera on your own network.

Who is responsible

luneto is developed and published by Eduardo Gondim. Contact: suporte@luneto.tech.

Data we collect

None. The application sends no data to the developer or to any third party. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting service.

Data stored on your device

So that it can do its job, the app keeps the following on the device where it is installed, and nowhere else:

Camera addresses, names and credentialsSo it can reconnect without asking again. Stored in a file readable only by your user account (permissions 0600) and written atomically.
Camera previews (thumbnails)So the home screen shows the last frame of each channel instead of a list of IP addresses.
Diagnostic logSo a failure can be explained after the fact. Credentials are removed from every log line before it is written.
Learned technical cachesRTSP transport and codec per camera, so the app does not have to rediscover them. They contain no credentials and can be deleted at any time.

Network connections

The app opens connections only to: (a) the cameras and addresses you configure or that appear in a scan of your local network; and (b) a media server it runs on your own machine, on 127.0.0.1, which is how the video reaches the window. It contacts no other host.

Video and images

Video is received from the camera and decoded on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere. Photos you save with the “Take photo” button are written to a folder on your device that you choose or that the app names for you.

Permissions

On mobile, the app asks for access to the local network — without it, it cannot see your cameras — and for permission to save photos when you ask it to save one. It does not request contacts, location, microphone or the device camera.

Children

luneto is a professional tool for video surveillance systems. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because we receive no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf. All data is under your control: deleting the application, or its configuration folder, removes it permanently.

Where the data lives

Linux: ~/.config/luneto · Windows: %APPDATA%\luneto · macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/luneto · Android and iOS: the app's private data folder, removed when the app is uninstalled.

Lawful use

You are responsible for using luneto in accordance with the video-surveillance and data-protection laws that apply where your cameras are installed. Recording people can be restricted or require notice in your jurisdiction.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date. Since no data is collected, no change here can retroactively affect data we hold — because we hold none.
